Huston was always drawn to entrepreneurship. Her background is in sales and marketing, where she built her professional career in the print and digital communications industry. In 2006, her family was approached with the opportunity to buy Patio Pleasures. In 2011, she came on full time in the family business, where she plays a key role in its finances, marketing and showroom strategies.

Bill Renter opened Best Hot Tubs on Long Island in 2013. He’d dabbled in hot tubs as part of his outdoor contracting company, but when that business plummeted in the recession, he opened his first hot tub retail location. He’s now expanded to three locations.

Eric Cassidy joined Valley Pool & Spa in 2006 from management positions at Coca-Cola and Walmart. Since he started as sales manager, moving to vice president shortly after, Valley has added five locations, a distribution center, ecommerce division and 40-plus employees under his direction. Valley’s business model focuses on long-term customer relationships by focusing on the after care and sale of supplies.

Josh Kemerling

Josh Kemerling has been with Georgia Spa Company since it opened in 2004. Kemerling also worked as a full-time firefighter during his first 10 years at Georgia Spa Company. Since its inception, Georgia Spa Company has grown from one to four showrooms and a 12,000-square-foot service and distribution center serving Atlanta and north Georgia. Georgia Spa Company has won numerous industry awards including the 2016 Hot Spring Spas Locksin Thompson Dealer of the Year award, presented by Watkins Wellness. Kemerling and his wife Jessica have four children: Carsen, 11; Kaelyn, 8, Kerrigan, 4; and Caydence, 4 months.


Brian Quint

Brian Quint was born and raised in the Seattle area. He got his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington State University. He then went to work for First National Bank of Oregon doing consumer, business and agricultural lending. Quint joined his father at Aqua Quip in 1979, and has spent the balance of his career growing the family business. He is a former chairman of the board of the Association of Pool & Spa Professionals.

 


Rohan Mehta/Gord Coy Arctic Spas Durham

Rohan Mehta (pictured) and Gord Coy have more than 20 years’ experience in the hot tub industry, from service to sales. They purchased the company from Coy’s cousin in 2004. It has expanded its showroom twice and increased a focus on swim spas. The company has won Arctic Spas Canadian Dealer of the award several times.
