Mirella Maya — 30 Under 40 2026

Mirella Maya’s job at Robert Allen Pools & Spas connects nearly every part of the business.
Customers, service technicians, construction crews, sales, billing and scheduling all pass through the office Maya manages — a much broader responsibility than the role she started with in 2020.
“I started as an administrative assistant and spa sales representative, and through hard work and dedication, I earned the opportunity to take on a leadership role,” Maya says.
She oversees office operations, customer service, billing and accounts, scheduling and sales support while coordinating communication between customers and the company’s field teams.
The role has required Maya to develop knowledge far beyond office management. One of her biggest challenges was understanding the technical side of pool and spa equipment — and then discovering that explaining it clearly to someone else could be harder than learning it herself.
So she asked questions, leaning on experienced technicians and building her technical knowledge.
“The pool and spa industry is always evolving, and there is always something new to learn, which has helped me become a better communicator and problem-solver,” Maya says.

That education matters most when she is working with customers. Maya particularly enjoys helping shoppers choose a spa that fits their lifestyle and then following the project from the first conversation through delivery and setup.
She would like to see the industry do more of that education before problems arise. Maya believes clearer explanations of equipment, maintenance, service and postpurchase responsibilities could eliminate misunderstandings between customers and dealers.
“Too often, there is confusion about responsibility after purchase, which leads to unrealistic expectations,” she says. “Stronger education up front would create better experiences on both sides.”
Outside the business, soccer has been part of Maya’s life since she was 5. She played competitively, including a season in the United Premier Soccer League, and captained her high school team. These days, much of her time around the sport is spent supporting her daughters at their own soccer games.
