Eleven years ago, twin sisters Adrianne and Rene, along with their husbands Tom Tritt and Brett Huston, purchased Patio Pleasures Pools & Spas. The business offered the perfect opportunity for the entrepreneurial-minded couples to grow an already well-established business.
The previous owners had name recognition and key industry relationships, and the Hustons and Tritts built on that by developing systems and creating a strong brand and store experience.
“We have two locations and we’ve grown to be a multimillion-dollar-a-year business,” Rene Huston says. “We are one of the best in our industry. We’re proud of how far we’ve come considering where we started.”
The original store was on the east side of Madison, Wisconsin. When a longtime competitor went out of business on the west side of the city, Patio Pleasures was ready to fill that gap. “We took advantage of that opportunity because we knew there was a lot of potential on this side of town,” Huston says.
Huston says opening a new location wasn’t as hard as she imagined. “We already had the relationships established within the brand, we already knew our pricing structure, we already had our marketing plan,” she says. “It was just a matter of pulling together a few more details.”
