Originally available in two boutique white shades, Pure Alabaster 8701 and Alabaster Wave 8705, Aristech Surfaces LLC is now pleased to offer two additional new colors within our collection: Pure Ebony 8702 and Euro White 8704.
Pure Ebony 8702 is modern and unique, a rich black that is one of the latest in bold trends for premium finishes in hot tub applications. Euro White 8704 brings the clean, sophistication of a cool-toned white with a light gray hue which lends for a serene hot tub experience. These new additions are the perfect complement to the existing AVONITE® Flex collection, reaching both ends of the color spectrum.
For 50 years, Aristech Surfaces LLC has been supplying the biggest hot tub and swim spa manufacturers in the industry with AcrySpaTM and AcrySwimTM high-performance acrylic sheets. 25 years ago, Aristech Surfaces LLC also began developing a brand portfolio of architect-recommended surfacing line featuring our most successful brand: AVONITE® Solid Surface.
With the launch of AVONITE® Flex, the American multinational hopes to invigorate the demand for luxury. AVONITE® Flex makes it possible to design a whole new kind of product. It was developed with the idea of combining two worlds that had seemed irreconcilable until now: on the one hand, the realm of hot tubs, invested in materials that are practical and comprehensively designed to meet the needs of B-to-B clients — easy to mass-produce, customizable, durable; and on the other hand, the realm of interior design with its sensual materials — elegant, pleasant to the touch, offering unlimited design characteristics, geared to private customers looking to give their home an additional element of comfort without sacrificing style.
So what do consumers and designers think? In research conducted a by third-party research firm, consumers described the AVONITE® Flex material as, “modern, high end, higher quality and luxurious.” Commercial designers were wowed by the ability to get the look and feel traditionally found in expensive stone like marble or quartz in a solid surface that could be molded and formed to such great detail. One commercial customer commented, “I see this as a durable, solid surface with a soft, matte touch.” All in all, the research revealed that consumers and designers alike think AVONITE® Flex hits the “sweet spot” of affordable luxury.
Like AcrySpaTM and AcrySwimTM, AVONITE® Flex is resistant to staining and chemical cleaners, allowing it to withstand the intensive cleaning involved in hot tub and swim spa maintenance. Moreover, its non-porous, bacteriostatic surface limits the growth of micro-organisms, making it a perfectly hygienic material.
Developed by a leading surfacing pioneer, this new material offers all the most sought after functional properties: supplied in sheets or rolls, the sheeting is 3.2 mm thick and is available in widths of up to 108 in. /2740 mm. It also boasts outstanding thermoformability, allowing it to be vacuum formed over the sharpest angles and the most hard-to-reach recesses. Finally, AVONITE® Flex is lightweight, making it easy to handle in the workshop, in transport and during installation.
Despite the innovative character of AVONITE® Flex, Aristech Surfaces LLC was very careful to design a material that would not require manufacturers to invest in new equipment. It can be produced using conventional molds and vacuum forming systems with no additional investment required. It can also be thermoformed as needed. Moreover, the material is easier to repair than acrylic sheets, making it even more durable.
