Although Christina Swanson, strategic marketing manager for Pentair Pool, has only worked directly with pools and spas for a year, she has never felt more at home.
“My journey within the industry hasn’t been all too long, but I have been working in the backyard for nearly a decade,” she says.
Before joining Pentair, she spent seven years with an outdoor power equipment manufacturer, beautifying green spaces and landscapes across North America.
Her favorite part of working in this industry is how everyone has a passion for delivering best-in-class experiences.
“Whether someone is an OEM designing and delivering a new product, a dealer installing or building a new spa or a service professional showing up for their weekly cleaning, every one of us genuinely wants to do our job well with a common goal to make our customers happy,” she says.
Because of this passion, Swanson sees herself in this industry for a long time.
“Passion isn’t something you can coach or foster; that has to come from within,” she says.
But she would like to see more connection and education in the industry.
“I would love the opportunity to slow down, connect, collaborate and share experiences,” Swanson says. “Henry Ford said it best — ‘Anyone who stops learning is old, at 20 or 80. Anyone who keeps learning stays young.’ We must prioritize connection and the opportunities of continuous education/learning even in the form of bite-sized moments and experiences to work in harmony with the speed life presents.”
