Top Awards at Georgia Spa Company Renamed in Honor of Industry Leaders
At Georgia Spa Company’s annual celebration dinner in February, the top awards were renamed in honor of company and industry leaders.
The Employee of the Year Award will now carry the name of Georgia Spa Company founder Mark Stevens, and the Sales & Marketing Employee of the Year Award will now be enshrined with the names of sales professionals Mark Baker and Cherry Durand.
Stevens established Georgia Spa in 2004, and in May 2023, he announced the company was sold into an employee stock ownership plan, giving its employees ownership after 20 years at the helm. Although he’s now retired, Stevens serves as chairman of the board of directors for Georgia Spa Company.

To qualify for the award, individuals must first earn the title of Employee of the Month, a recognition bestowed upon outstanding performers in both sales and operations. These monthly honorees are nominated by their peers and chosen through a voting process by the leadership team.
Keisha Shiver, Georgia Spa Company’s vendor relations specialist, was named the 2023 Mark Stevens Employee of the Year.
With nearly a decade of service to Georgia Spa, joining the team in July of 2014, Shiver has worn many hats, transitioning seamlessly from roles in sales to warehouse coordination, inventory management, and now, as a vendor relations specialist.

The Baker-Durand Sales & Marketing Employee of the Year Award was given to Cherry Durand and Mark Baker in 2023, honoring its new namesakes.
“This past year in 2023, these two collectively sold over 250 hot tubs, swim spas and saunas totaling nearly $4 million in revenue,” says Adam Eubanks, Georgia Spa vice president of sales. “Their leadership and wisdom are unmistakable, resonating within our sales team through both their words and actions.”
