Snake River Pool & Spa

New generation of management

Energizer Stores
Owner: Jim Paxton
Boise and Twin Falls, ID

Snake River Pool & Spa currently has two Idaho locations, a 10,000 square foot showroom in Boise and a smaller store in Twin Falls. Sales Manager Jeremy Foresee began working there after finishing a civil engineering job in the area.

“Now, I don’t think I would ever consider switching industries,” Foresee says. “It’s just a fantastic place to be.” And if you worked in a store like the one that he describes, you wouldn’t want to leave either.

“We have just a phenomenal culture in the store relating to employees,” Foresee says. “From service techs to delivery crews to major product salesmen to after market people, they all move as one. It’s a giant team effort and everyone here is on board. Every day we come to work we have a good time, we look forward to seeing each other; we don’t deal with the typical workplace politics.”

But it’s not an environment that just emerged organically, it’s something that they work at and Foresee has tried hard to instill.

“I think the old style of management has kind of flown out the window where you go and make demands of your employees, and expect good results,” he says. “I think the time has come where you need to get to know [the employees] and find out exactly what it is that makes them tick. Make it an even balance between what [the employer] is asking and what’s in it for [the employee]. Making sure that they’re happy to be here. It makes for a lot more pleasant place to work.”
