Joshua Rolfe, 25
Service manager
St. Cyr Pool & Spa
Middleton, Massachusetts
Starting in retail at just 16, Joshua Rolfe built his career from the ground up — stocking shelves, performing water analysis and selling parts and chemicals before ever stepping into a service van. “After my first year, I gradually started working in the field to learn spa repairs and helped with spa deliveries,” Rolfe says. Within a few years, Rolfe became a lead technician, responsible for training new hires and helping grow the company’s service department.
By 25, he reached his biggest professional milestone: becoming service manager. “In just nine years in the industry, I’ve demonstrated a strong ability to lead, contribute to business growth and support employee success,” he says. This early promotion is a testament to his work ethic, leadership skills and technical expertise — qualities that have helped his rise.
Rolfe thrives on variety. “No two days are ever the same,” he says. But that variety comes with complexities. As St. Cyr’s service umbrella expanded from a single brand to servicing nearly all brands — including many they didn’t originally sell — Rolfe had to quickly master a range of products and systems. He rose to the occasion, seeking manufacturer-specific courses, Pool & Hot Tub Alliance certification classes and hands-on training to build expertise. “I overcame this by actively pursuing training opportunities and learning [as much as I could] in the field,” Rolfe says.
Rolfe plans to advance into higher levels of leadership, mentoring future technicians and helping shape company strategy. “My goal is to build strong, knowledgeable teams and create systems that improve efficiency and customer satisfaction,” he says. He also wants to help raise industry standards — particularly by improving the accessibility and transparency of technical information across brands, which he believes would benefit technicians and customers alike.
Outside of work, Rolfe enjoys jet skiing and camping — “both great ways to unwind, connect with nature and recharge” — as well as horticulture, which has taught him patience and attention to detail. His two dogs are constant companions, keeping him active and reminding him to enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
