Brandon Jones’ entry into the pool and spa industry was in 2016, when he purchased Cleveland Clean Pools in Cape Coral, Florida. Since selling that business six years ago, he has expanded his footprint as co-owner of Legacy Outdoor Group, parent company of St. Cyr Pool & Spa and Budget Pools in Massachusetts, bringing hands-on experience in retail, service and construction to his leadership roles.

For Jones, the heart of his work lies in “solving [customers’] problems and giving them an enjoyable experience with whatever product they are using.” He believes the industry is “built around happiness and health,” and he finds fulfillment knowing the products his teams deliver enrich people’s lives.

While he doesn’t pinpoint a singular career highlight, Jones describes an ongoing sense of accomplishment: “I feel like we are building something really special, and that is a reflection of our team,” Jones says. This collective progress motivates him, even as he faces the adjustment of stepping back from the hands-on technical work he loves. “I love being in the field and hope to get to a point where I can be out there a lot again,” he says. 

Guided by the mentorship of retired pool and spa business owner Alan Lee, Jones embraces the lessons of perseverance, adaptability and generosity that have shaped his leadership style. Jones says his growth mindset means he doesn’t see a current end to their progress and drives his ambition to get into as many backyards as possible.

Jones also cares about making hot tubs more accessible. “Most everyone would love to use one, but not everyone can [afford] one. How can we change that?” he asks.

Jones admits his entrepreneurial drive has made balancing life a little complicated. “I used to enjoy mud races and basically anything that would get the adrenaline going,” he says. “I love to travel, but it has to be off the beaten path. Now, my hobby after work is work.”
