Olympic Hot Tub has selected Step Into Swim as the beneficiary of its annual Founder’s Event, with a goal of raising $20,000 to support swim lessons and water safety education.

The event honors Olympic Hot Tub founders Alice Cunningham and Blair Osborn and their commitment to giving back. During the fundraiser, the Seattle-based retailer will donate a portion of each saltwater Hot Spring Spa, Endless Pools swim spa and Tylo Sauna sale to Step Into Swim.

“Alice and Blair, both brilliant businesspeople, were passionate about giving back and supporting causes that improve people’s lives,” says Olympic Hot Tub president Don Riling. “Step Into Swim’s commitment to water safety and helping more children gain access to lifesaving swim lessons is a natural fit for Olympic Hot Tub.”

Step Into Swim, an initiative of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance, provides grants to learn-to-swim programs to expand access to formal swim instruction. Donations made through the Founder’s Event will be matched by the PHTA board of directors.

“This partnership is about investing in the safety of children right here in our community,” says Jillian Wilkins, manager of Step Into Swim. “Every dollar raised will help provide local children with access to swim lessons, giving them the skills and confidence to be safer around the water. With every donation matched by the PHTA board of directors, our community’s generosity will go twice as far — helping us create more swimmers and a safer future for Washington families.”

Riling says the partnership also aligns with Olympic Hot Tub’s focus on health and wellness.

“Water is at the heart of what we do, so we’re hopeful our customers and communities will join us in supporting Step Into Swim and help give more children access to this lifesaving skill,” he says.
