What’s the best thing about the Ahh!some Watercare line of products? For Jim Parker, it’s the simplicity.
“All you need to know how to do is measure out the correct dose, remove your filter cartridges and headrests (if they are removable) and turn your jets on high,” says Parker, president of Unique Solutions USA, which operates the Ahh!some brand of products. “That’s it.”
Ahh!some Hot Tub Plumbing and Jet Cleaner— which purges pipes, jets and the shell of biofilm, debris and other contaminants — is boosted by its unique gel formula.
“Our gels are at the core of what we do and the reason we are so effective,” Parker says. “They allow the customer to use an extremely small amount of product to complete extremely large jobs.”
One teaspoon of gel per is needed 125 gallons of water, which means more bang for customers’ buck.
For example, Ahh!some’s four-ounce tube of gel retails for $35.95 and provides up to eight purges (using a 375- to 400-gallon hot tub). $39.95/8 = $4.49. Among the benefits of the cleaner, its speed stands out: Owners can purge their spas in 30 minutes or less, Parker says. That means more convenience for customers and greater efficiency for service professionals.
“Within 30 seconds of adding Ahh!some to your water, if you have biofilm in the internals of your tub or spa, it will start to come out and be visible on the surface and along the shell of the tub,” he says.
The product was also designed to be environmentally friendly. “Once Ahh!some has been used, there is really nothing left over as it uses the vast majority of the active ingredients while purging,” Parker says. “So it is completely safe to drain almost anywhere.”
However, the company doesn’t recommend draining into ponds, lakes, rivers or other bodies of water where aquatic life is present because the bacteria being removed from the tub or spa could impact those ecosystems.
“Using Ahh!some on a regular basis allows for significantly less chemical usage in your tub or spa,” Parker adds. “This is due in large part to the fact that your water is not fighting the bio contaminants that were in your tub.”
Ahh!some helps eliminate waterborne bacteria and biofilm that can contribute to infections or respiratory issues. It also reduces skin irritation, making the soaking experience more comfortable — especially for those with sensitive skin or allergies.
Retailers can suggest Ahh!some to customers who already have a water care routine, since the products are designed to integrate with existing maintenance habits.
“Whether that is our purge products, our weekly maintenance products or any of our other fantastic products, all can be very easily added to the customer’s care routine with virtually no hassle,” Parker says. “I sell it as making hot tub and swim spa care easy and less time-consuming.”
Over its 29 years in business, Ahh!some has built a loyal following.
“Though we know we have never been able to please everyone, we have an incredible customer base who love our products,” Parker says. “Some have been with us since the very beginning. I would say our No. 1 compliment that we receive is our level of customer service. We pride ourselves daily on providing the best customer service possible.”
That, in the end, is what Ahh!some is all about: relationships.
“Our products speak for themselves in what they do,” Parker says. “But we treat every customer as a priority.”
