Balboa Water Group provides masks for first responders, customers
When the pandemic hit, Manuel Viveros started reaching out to the community to see how the company might help. The plant manager for Balboa Water Group’s Mexico factory contacted the secretary of health, the Red Cross, the Mexican Army, fire and police departments, hospitals and even local little league baseball teams. Within a week, Balboa was manufacturing masks for them all.
“Our community outreach is widespread, not only comprising of first responders, but also our vendors, customers and family members of our employees worldwide,” says Bob Martin, executive vice president and general manager. “We have offered to provide materials to our competitors as well.”
Balboa has donated 10,000 masks since March and will continue to provide personal protective equipment such as masks, face shields, gloves and disinfectant to the community upon request, Martin says. “The people of Tijuana and Mexico have been very good to Balboa, and we welcome the opportunity to give back to this vivacious and hard-working community that means so much to us,” Martin says.
A huge thank you to Balboa Water Group for their generous donation of COVID-19 protective masks to help keep our team safe. Balboa has manufactured and donated thousands of masks to frontline workers and has worked tirelessly to support the movement to halt the spread of the virus. We are so proud to have them as our partner. Thank you Balboa Water Group and thank you to all the frontline workers that are sacrificing each day for us!
