Laci Davis, 38
The Grit Game, Chief content officer
Land O’ Lakes, Florida
Laci Davis got her start at the most magical place on earth — Walt Disney World — but her trajectory changed when she met her now-husband, who was an executive at Royal Swimming Pools in Memphis, Tennessee. Recognizing her potential, he offered her a job and gave her an assignment: writing a detailed manual for DIY homeowners on building a vinyl in-ground swimming pool.
“I guess he thought if I could handle that, I could handle anything,” she says.
Soon, Davis found her own kind of magic at Royal Swimming Pools; she became a trusted voice in the vinyl pool kit space, producing educational content that resonated with both builders and homeowners.
In December 2022, Davis and her husband left Royal Swimming Pools with the intent to offer consulting services, but when a hot tub manufacturer offered them the opportunity to represent its products, they pivoted. In just 15 months, they built a bustling rep firm, now consisting of more than 20 industry veterans representing 15 product lines across the U.S.
Davis’ knack for innovative marketing, especially on platforms like LinkedIn, became a cornerstone of her success. The demand for her marketing expertise grew rapidly, and she launched The Grit Game Marketing.
In her new role, Davis has connected with professionals across the industry, which has been a constant source of inspiration and affirmation.
“What stands out most about these engagements is the exceptional caliber of people in the hot tub sector,” she says. “This consistent level of professionalism and warmth not only makes my daily work enjoyable but also assures me of the hot tub industry’s potential as a long-term sector for growth and opportunity.”
Davis aspires to create an interconnected industry where manufacturers, retailers and service providers collaborate to foster sustainable growth.
“[I want] to take what I’ve learned from corporate Disney, pixie dust and all, to being a voice of educational insight and distribute that knowledge to help those within the industry I love to have more tools in their toolbelt to be successful,” she says.
