Lia Morgillo - 2024 30 Under 40

Lia Morgillo, 33

Wholesome Pool and Spa, CEO
North Haven, Connecticut

Lia Morgillo built her hot tub industry knowledge long before she held any official title. Growing up in a family that owned and operated Brothers Pool, Morgillo’s childhood was shaped by the culture of the pool and spa industry, preparing her to take over the company as CEO at just 20 years old in 2011.

“Stocking shelves with my mom, learning the back end of the business from my dad, perfecting my customer service under the guidance of my grandfather and working every job in between made me the knowledgeable and balanced leader I eventually became,” she says.

With dreams of expanding the family business and becoming a leader in the industry, she seized the opportunity to make her mark. However, when her parents decided to sell the company, Morgillo embarked on a new venture and founded Wholesome Pool and Spa.

The company has grown steadily since its inception and even opened a new retail store. Morgillo says her favorite part of working in the hot tub industry is the people she meets.

“Networking at trade shows and growing a customer base have led to fulfilling friendships and have been great catalysts for keeping my business focus people-driven,” Morgillo says. “My long-term career goal has always been to create a legacy that includes people who enrich life and prioritize wellness.”

As a CEO and mother of two young boys, Morgillo is dedicated to creating a company that reflects her values. She has developed a business model that allows Wholesome Pool and Spa’s principles to shine, with plans to establish a charitable community outreach program. Her vision is to build a company that contributes to the well-being of others, while also maintaining the integrity and morality of her business and eventually being remembered as a good mom, boss and community member.

“Wholesome is proof that hard work makes dreams come true,” Morgillo says. “I want to be known as someone who worked hard to make that happen in my own life.”
