When it comes to hot tubs, comfort and convenience are key. With the 2025 redesign of its Twilight Series and the debut of the Master Clear Salt System, Master Spas is focused on those very principles.
Twilight Series 8.2 — 2025 redesign
When Master Spas updated the Twilight Series that’s been so popular for more than 15 years, it knew it didn’t want to lose the essence of the spas.
“We’ve heard for years that the TS 8.2 is the most comfortable and therapeutic hot tub out there,” says Kevin Richards, president of Master Spas. “It was hard to determine what we could do to improve the performance and user experience, but we think we did.”
The biggest changes were ultimately visual, with a redesigned flange, more modern lines on the interior and a new cabinet with accent lighting.
The company also introduced a nonslip material where people enter the hot tub, adjustable-height pillows, a redesigned neck and shoulder jet collar and a simpler control panel.
The updated model saw only a slight price increase compared to the previous version.
“That increase is incredibly easy to justify when you look at the addition of the new cabinet system that has the built-in lighting, the easy-to-use dial control panel and the option to add in the best water care system on the market,” Richards says.
For Master Spas, product updates almost always begin with customer input.
“Whether it’s from feedback through our Customer Care Team and what they are hearing, feedback from dealers on what their customers are saying or consumer reviews, it’s the most important thing we can do,” Richards says.
The company also held several Zoom meetings with its top dealers before the redesign.
[The Twilight Series] wasn’t broken, but we had ideas on how to make it better. We 110% wanted to get our dealers to buy into our vision, and their input and ideas made it even better.”

“[The Twilight Series] wasn’t broken, but we had ideas on how to make it better,” Richards says. “We 110% wanted to get our dealers to buy into our vision, and their input and ideas made it even better.”
Richards is confident the Twilight Series — specifically the TS 8.2 — stands toe-to-toe with top-of-the-line models from other major brands.
“Feature to feature,” he says. “Benefit to benefit. It’s right there.”

Master Clear Salt System
Master Spas also recently launched its new Master Clear Salt System.
“The biggest challenges with salt systems have been that they keep generating chlorine to potentially unsafe levels and they require high levels of salt that cause corrosion of the components,” Richards says. “So we developed a system that has the lowest concentration of salt needed to generate adequate chlorine.”
The company developed a Smart Cell that automatically tests the water regularly to generate the proper amount of sanitizer. Their app makes it easy to monitor and manage each owner’s system based on their needs.
Some added benefits Master Spas has found — beyond the water being ready when the owner wants to jump in at a moment’s notice — include the system’s ability to prevent biofilm and reduce the frequency of water changes.
“This means less filter cleaning, less jet cleaning and making it easier to take care of the hot tub water while keeping all your plumbing fittings clean,” Richards says. “Also, you’ll find you don’t need to replace the water in your hot tub as often, which not only saves time but may be challenging in places like California [due to water restrictions and utility costs].”
Richards, who travels often, admits he doesn’t check on his hot tub as much as he should. But when he’s ready to get in, he wants to get in immediately.
“In the year that I’ve had my system installed, it’s been ready for me every time I open the cover,” he says. “No hassle, no worries, and I bet there are a lot of hot tub owners out there just like me.”
Richards notes that dealers might sell fewer chemicals to customers who opt for the system, thanks to the reduced biofilm, but the better overall ownership experience makes it worth it.
That sentiment is echoed by Ted Dellas, president of Leisuretime Warehouse in Ohio.
“The Master Clear Salt System really can be summed up in a couple of words: fantastic, great, excellent,” he says. “The reason we are so pleased about the new program is that it provides the customer with two things: ease of maintenance and consistently crystal-clear water.”
All 2025 Twilight Series Spas, including the TS 8.2, and Michael Phelps Legend Series Spas can be ordered with the Master Clear Salt System or prepped for easy installation in the field.
“It’s super easy and goes right into the filter area,” Richards says.
For dealers and customers alike, the Master Clear Salt System delivers a compelling combination of reliability and ease.
“Now if we could get the local electric companies to supply free power,” Dellas jokes, “the world would be a perfect place.”
