Outdoor GreatRoom: Shining Bright

The Outdoor GreatRoom Company releases the Crystal Fire Plus burner

The Outdoor GreatRoom Company, a Minnesota-based manufacturer of outdoor living products, has launched an upgrade to its Crystal Fire burner. With improvements in development for more than two years, the Crystal Fire Plus burner “has been engineered to be easier to use, produce a more natural looking flame and exceed any safety standards expected in the industry,” says Hilary Reynolds, marketing manager for The Outdoor GreatRoom. “Our goal was to make sure that installation was easy, the burner was reliable to use and that it produced a beautiful flame.”

It became available this summer for commercial property orders and will be ready in January 2020 for residential customers. The new burner, featuring commercial-grade #304 stainless steel, has a patent-pending design that drains water from burner components and out of the edge of the pan.

“This greatly reduces any maintenance or service needs and will keep the burner operating better for longer,” Reynolds says.

The new design also accommodates a higher BTU capacity that will allow the flame to be taller, fuller and a richer yellow color. The flame will also be fully adjustable and won’t produce soot.

With safety as a top priority for the company, Reynolds says the new burner also has automatic safety ignition and shutdown operations.

“If gas is flowing but a flame is not sensed, the burner automatically shuts off the connection to the gas source until favorable operating conditions return,” Reynolds says.

Beginning next year, the Crystal Fire Plus burner will replace the original Crystal Fire burner in the company’s fire tables, fire pits and custom and commercial products, including landscape/hardscape installations. As a complementary product to complete an outdoor space designed to relax and entertain, the new burner can enhance spa dealers’ showrooms and customer offerings to help customers attain the full backyard experience they desire.

“We have done many custom spa height fire pits that hot tub retailers sell in their showrooms,” Reynolds says. “Both fire pits and hot tubs are primarily used for relaxation, and we think both complete an outdoor space.”

Doreen Zettle, owner of BZ Pools & Decks, Inc. in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, says her company brought The Outdoor GreatRoom Company’s burning displays to its showroom this year. Customers love to see them lit, she says.

“We have had great response to them since bringing them in,” Zettle says.

The customization of the fire pit tables with unique sizes and styles enticed BZ Pools & Decks, and is a welcome addition to its display room, Zettle says.

Agean Hot Tubs in Cincinnati, Ohio, has been selling The Outdoor GreatRoom Company pergolas and fire pits for nearly a decade, says Chris Bolte, president. The Outdoor GreatRoom Company’s priority to keep up with current trends, along with its vast selection, fast shipping and customer service, keep them loyal, Bolte says.

“They have very diverse options to choose from,” Bolte says. “[Outdoor GreatRoom provides] a lot of great videos so customers can really see products even if we don’t have one in stock. They make so many different models that we can’t stock 40 or 50 different fire pits. But if we don’t have one [a customer is interested in], we can just bring up a video on our iPad or Surface. Most companies don’t offer that. It makes the customer feel a bit better seeing how it actually works.”

In addition to fire pits, fire tables and pergolas, The Outdoor GreatRoom Company also offers furniture and outdoor kitchens.

The new Crystal Fire Plus burner has a lifetime limited warranty on its stainless-steel construction. The MSRP is $459 to $2,349 depending on size, ranging from a 20-inch round to a 10-foot-long linear version. Various shapes, sizes and mounting options will also be available.
