New hot tub line from Superior Wellness provides modern features at a lower price
The new line of Platinum Deluxe hot tubs from Superior Wellness may make it easier for first-time buyers to access the latest technology and features at an entry-level price.
“It’s an everyday person’s hot tub,” says Gareth Ward, Superior Wellness sales director.
Superior Wellness introduced the first Platinum Deluxe line 12 years ago as an entry-level offering, and it has remained one of the company’s most popular. As the years passed, company leaders felt it needed updating, Ward says. So, the U.K.-based company created five new feature-rich models — Happy, Palma, Refresh, Seville and Tahiti — that better fit modern lifestyles while staying low priced.
“We wanted to improve the design and the look of the product in line with how people’s gardens [yards, for the Americans] are now,” he says. “That’s why we’ve gone with the new side panels, the new lighting package … There are not many spas on the market, especially in the U.S., that hit that price bracket.”
Superior Wellness has 250 retail partners worldwide. In the U.S., the company stocks the Platinum Deluxe line on the East and West coasts, which lowers shipping time and cost.
The Platinum Deluxe hot tubs come with lights, Bluetooth speakers, improved curvature and design, multiple shell color options, fabric covers and other external attributes. However, retailer James Carmany, of Aquatic Spas of Hilton Head in South Carolina, says it’s the internal features that really sell the products.
“Most customers are looking for a quality spa at a fair price,” he says. “They want their hot tub to last and not fall apart or break a few years later. They want a business that will help them with any questions and repairs when needed long after the sale. Superior Wellness is a company that stands behind its product.”

Durable frame and base
Superior Wellness hot tubs are built with a stainless-steel frame, as opposed to wood that is susceptible to rot and termite damage. The company also uses a Platinum Everbase, a thicker-than-normal ABS pan base. The company provides a lifetime warranty on both the frame and the base of each hot tub.
Easy access
Without any screws, the Deluxe line side panels perfectly clip together for easier access for repairs, Ward says. Carmany is sure to point out this feature to all his customers.
“I remind the customers that this is an appliance; and eventually, you will need a repair,” Carmany says. “I show them how easy it is to remove the panels with the insulation attached, then the easy access they have on the inside.”
Platinum Premium Shield
The Deluxe line of hot tubs comes with the Superior Wellness standard Platinum Premium Shield. This feature surrounds the tub with five different types of insulation, which improves energy efficiency. In fact, the Platinum Deluxe line is the first of the company’s products to be certified by the California Energy Commission, Ward says. The Platinum Premium Shield consists of the following features:
- The base has a reflective foil wrap.
- The cabinet has thick foil-coated insulation panels.
- The shell has several layers of ultra-efficient spray foam.
- The hot tub has an additional 360-degree wall of reflective foil wrapped around the steel structure, locking in heat.
- The hot tub has a well-insulated cover.
Beyond the product
In addition to the product features, including the patent-pending ozone cleaning system that comes standard, Carmany commends Superior Wellness for its focus on serving customers and listening to partners, not just selling products.
“Since I first started carrying Superior Wellness, I have provided small feedback changes on some of their models,” he says. “Most companies blow you off and keep doing it their way. Superior Wellness listened and have made a few changes I have personally recommended. How cool is that? They also have great people working for them.”
Superior Wellness was recently ranked as one of Britain’s fastest-growing companies on For Entrepreneurs, By Entrepreneurs’ Growth 100 list, an annual list and award from the club of entrepreneurs that recognizes the fastest-growing privately owned businesses in the country. Ward credits the company’s dedication to customer service.
“We’re not a marketing company,” he says. “We’re not a sales company. Our main focus is our customers, and it’s our customers that sell us to more customers. And that’s how we’ve grown at the speed we have. We’ve just organically grown every year.”
