Be Well Canada Spa: Designed to Stand Out

Be Well Canada Spa introduces the Uniq Series

Founded in Europe in 2005 and established in Canada a decade later, Be Well Canada Spa has spent the last several years steadily expanding its manufacturing footprint and dealer network.

The Quebec-based company now operates about 140,000 square feet of production space and is pushing further into the U.S. market, where it sees opportunities for growth across multiple regions.

One of its latest efforts is the Uniq Series, introduced in March. The collection brings new sizes, new design elements and greater flexibility for dealers while maintaining the construction standards central to the Be Well brand.

Responding to the market

Historically, Be Well spas incorporated air blowers — a feature the company still supports — but as consumer preferences shifted, dealers sought a simpler configuration.

Rather than create a stripped-down model, Be Well built the Uniq Series around the same standards used across its existing collections.

“What’s nice is that any series we offer is always the same quality,” says Amélie St-Hilaire, sales manager for Be Well Canada Spa. “There’s not a line where you won’t have an ABS base, or we’re going to cheap out on the insulation.”

That philosophy extends to component selection. St-Hilaire says Be Well has maintained a close partnership with Gecko and uses its controls and technology throughout the lineup.

New sizes, new configurations

The 10-model Uniq Series has everything from four-person units to larger seven-seat configurations. The lineup includes four sizes and jet counts ranging from 20 to 76. Three plug-and-play models were added after dealers requested easier installation options.

The series also introduces sizes that were not previously available in the Be Well lineup, including an 84-by-84-inch model.

Designers paid particular attention to aesthetics and interior space, St-Hilaire says.

“The molds are beautiful,” she adds.

The slimmer shell profile reduces bulk while increasing usable interior space and water volume, creating a roomier interior without increasing the spa’s footprint.

Maatoe Jolly, co-owner of Sensassion Pool & Spa, has sold Be Well spas for over a decade, first in France and now in West Palm Beach, Florida. He says customers notice more than the spa’s appearance.

“Every seat feels natural, supportive and comfortable, while every massage seems perfectly engineered for the human body,” he says. “Sometimes we joke that the spa molds must have been designed by a chiropractor because the jet placement is so incredibly precise.”

The collection also includes features such as illuminated waterfalls, chromotherapy lighting, backlit controls and an integrated sparkling wine bucket.

Beyond the new sizes, Be Well has multiple seating configurations in its lineup, including no-lounger, one-lounger and two-lounger layouts.

“We know that the two-lounger model is not the most popular one,” St-Hilaire says. “But at least [dealers] are not going to lose a sale.”

Jolly says that variety has helped the dealership serve a range of customers.

“Another strength of Be Well is its ability to offer a spa for everyone,” he says. “Whether a customer has a very small patio or a large outdoor living space, whether they are looking for a two-person retreat or a spacious family spa with premium technology, there is always a model that perfectly fits their lifestyle.”

Flexible packages

The series also provides more ways for dealers to tailor the product mix.

Instead of offering a single specification package, Be Well built the series around four upgrade levels. Entry-level packages can include features such as ozone sanitation, Wi-Fi connectivity and LED lighting, while higher-level packages add Bluetooth audio, waterlab integration and other premium options.

The company sees particular value in Gecko’s waterlab system, which allows owners to monitor water chemistry through an app.

“All our new collections always have the waterlab ready,” St-Hilaire says. “We are believers. It works very well, and it’s a great feature.”

St-Hilaire says dealer education has become a major part of introducing the technology, particularly as water care systems become increasingly sophisticated.

Direct lines

As Be Well expands in the U.S., dealer support remains one of the company’s biggest selling points. The company emphasizes direct access to staff, technical assistance and a dealer portal that tracks orders, claims, documentation and production status.

“If you’re about to close a sale and you have a question that you don’t have the answer to, call me,” St-Hilaire says.

She contrasts that approach with the customer service structures common throughout the industry.

“It’s not dial one, dial two, dial three and wait a week or month for a return call,” she says. “It’s all direct.”

The company’s CRM portal houses ordering tools, technical documents, marketing materials and warranty information. Dealers can also monitor production progress and track service claims in real time. Dealers, St-Hilaire says, often have the same reaction: “Wow, I’ve never seen a portal that’s so complete.”

That support has helped build long-term loyalty, Jolly says.

“Working with Be Well has always been easy, transparent and enjoyable,” he says. “Their communication is excellent, ordering is smooth and their after-sales service is truly one of the best we have experienced.”

Beyond support and service, Be Well also assures dealers worried about working with a Canadian manufacturer. St-Hilaire says freight costs are often more competitive than prospective dealers expect, and products currently move tariff-free under the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.

A Canadian advantage

As Be Well works to grow its U.S. footprint, St-Hilaire says the company’s Canadian roots can be an advantage.

The spas are built in Quebec, where harsh winters make insulation and cold-weather performance a necessity rather than a marketing claim.

“In Quebec, we run our spas year-round,” she says.

That experience has impacted the company’s approach to insulation and energy efficiency, which St-Hilaire says resonates with dealers in colder regions of the U.S.

She also believes Canadian manufacturing still carries weight in the marketplace. “Canadian products have always had a very good reputation and [solid] craftsmanship,” she says. “We have the perfect recipe to be successful.”
