Hydropool’s Signature Self-Cleaning Collection does the dirty work
Earlier this year, Ontario, Canada-based Hydropool debuted its updated Signature Self-Cleaning Collection. The line of hot tubs features upgraded cabinets and molds, commercial-grade microfiltration and more.
Doug Gillespie, vice president of marketing at Hydropool, says the company focused on ease of maintenance, energy efficiency and wellness when creating the collection.
It includes nine hot tubs, all with Hydropool’s patented dual-filter self-clean technology that consists of three features: a topside skimmer that removes anything floating on the surface, a floor vacuum that sucks up debris on the bottom and a pressurized filtration system where water is forced into the filter to ensure 100% of the water is filtered in about 10 minutes, making each hot tub easy to maintain.
Overflowing with new features
Dana Hyde, owner of Saint-Eustache, Quebec-based CK Spas, believes the filtration system is what stands out most about the collection.
“People are always asking where the filter is,” she says. “They are surprised by the pressurized filtration [system] and the short time frame to filter the water but also pleased that it’s very well incorporated into the spa and doesn’t stand out.”
People who previously owned a spa or pool also love the idea of the floor vacuum, Hyde adds.
“It’s one less thing to worry about when taking care of your water and one less thing to buy since it’s incorporated into the spa floor itself,” she says.
The Gold model comes with the energy-efficient, self-clean circulation pump plus one jet pump, while the Platinum model includes two jet pumps.
Both models come with a complete wellness guide, and the Platinum model includes a Hydrother Control featuring eight hydrotherapy programs, including ones for back pain, sports recovery and insomnia.
The Signature Self-Cleaning Collection includes a PureWater System as well, combining UV and ozone water treatments to eliminate 99% of contaminants, which Hydropool says can reduce chemical dependency by more than 50%. The models are energy efficient, too, with Hydropool’s innovative HydroWise Thermal Shield Energy Efficient Insulation System and HydroWise Hard Cover.
In addition to each model having a more European look and feel — sleek and modern — they all have a 100% galvanized steel frame, Gillespie says. This increases durability and longevity and helps the spa avoid rot in cases of humidity and insects nesting within the frame.
“That’s a massive upgrade in structural integrity to the hot tub,” Gillespie says.
Retailers are taking note of the updates to the tub’s structure and aesthetic. Jennifer Gannon, proprietor at BonaVista Leisurescapes in Toronto, loves that each model in the collection has a modern finish and ergonomic design to ensure a deep massage and luxurious soak. Hyde enjoys the new cabinets, which are easy to remove, and the 799 Platinum model in particular.
“A spa with two loungers is rare, but a spa with two loungers and comfort like this one is even more rare,” Hyde says. “I have fallen in love with this model, and once my home renovations are complete, it’ll be my model of choice for my backyard.”
What customers are saying
Gannon says customer feedback about the collection has been positive.
“They are thrilled with the quality, ease of use and hydrotherapy,” she says. “It’s great to offer a Canadian manufacturer who differentiates themselves with the self-cleaning filtration in the Signature Collection.”
Ultimately, Hyde says Hydropool made its already great spas even better in terms of looks and functionality.
“Whenever a manufacturer announces they’re changing their product, there’s always some concern as to whether it’ll be a positive change,” she says. “In this case, we were more than pleasantly surprised. They have shown their devotion to maintaining the quality of their product, offering customers their own little oasis in their backyard.”
