Isaac’s Special Surprise

The Hot Tub Store provides a heartwarming gift

The Hot Tub Store in Northern California has long been known for more than just its luxurious hot tubs. For five decades, the company has sought to improve lives by giving back to its community — participating in fundraisers, hosting toy and book drives, giving to local food banks and donating to employees’ chosen nonprofits. Recently, the company added another act of kindness to its list by giving a hot tub to Isaac Bringolf, a young man with epilepsy and cerebral palsy.

A member of the Bringolf family’s church, Cold Springs Church in Placerville, California, first reached out to The Hot Tub Store with a touching story. Twenty years ago, Bringolf received a hot tub through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, a gift that brought joy and therapeutic benefits to him and his family. However, the tub had aged, and the family needed a replacement. They wondered if The Hot Tub Store might help.

This request resonated deeply with the team at The Hot Tub Store, aligning with its core values of community support and the belief that everyone deserves the joys and therapeutic advantages of a hot tub. Collaborating with Watkins Wellness and the local church, The Hot Tub Store orchestrated the delivery and setup of a new Hot Spring Spa for Bringolf and his family.

The new hot tub presentation on May 11 was a small, intimate affair, designed to accommodate Bringolf’s sensitivity to large gatherings. The Hot Tub Store wanted to make the moment extra special, so they partially filled the tub with bags of Doritos, Bringolf’s favorite snack.

“The unveiling of the hot tub to Isaac and his family was heartwarming,” says Sky Matula, president and CEO of The Hot Tub Store. “Isaac [Bringolf] was thrilled that he was getting the chips and a new hot tub. The reaction melted the hearts of everyone in attendance. It was wonderful to be gifting him something he truly loves.”

Bringolf’s family was equally touched by the gesture and expressed profound gratitude, not just for the new hot tub but for the thoughtfulness and care that went into making the moment memorable. They were overjoyed that he would continue to benefit from the therapeutic warmth and relaxation of a hot tub, which had become an essential part of his life.

Meeting Bringolf and his family was also a profound experience for The Hot Tub Store team.

“Isaac [Bringolf] and his family are so kind-hearted,” Matula says. “Isaac is a sweet, gentle, kind young man. Isaac’s parents and siblings were so gracious and amazed with the generosity of The Hot Tub Store, Watkins Wellness and the members of their church who participated in this gift. Everyone was filled with joy at the unveiling of the hot tub gift.”

Matula says the team at The Hot Tub Store believes in making the world better, one hot tub at a time.

“Giving back to the communities where we live is the essence of how our company operates,” he says. “We continually look for people who need a hot tub for our hot tub gift-giving programs. We look for ways to volunteer our time to organizations doing good in our community. This is just how we do business.”
