Every time we feature a story on swim spas, I’m pretty sure I start my welcome message by scream-writing, “I LOVE SWIM SPAS! LET ME TELL YOU WHY.” That has not changed, but finally the rest of the world is catching on to my enthusiasm. Every retailer and manufacturer who sells both hot tubs and swim spas has told me that, while growth for both has been insane, swim spas are growing at a much faster rate than hot tubs. I’ve even started to have family and friends reach out to me asking for help choosing a swim spa, which in my mind solidifies this as a real trend.
But while I’m always excited to talk about swim spas, one topic I don’t much enjoy putting in SpaRetailer is hot tub warranties. The last time we wrote about warranties, we almost got sued. Please, don’t sue us. I feel like the whole industry needs to sit with a mediator and hash out warranty compensation, as no one, retailers or manufacturers, is ever walking away from that conversation completely happy.
By the time you read this, I will have been on a kid-free vacation for the first time in six years. That’s too long, and I’m excited to get away for a couple of days. I mention this because if you’re like, “Huh, I wonder when the last time I traveled for fun was?” then it has been too long for you, too. Get away, refresh, recharge — and come back and sell more swim spas.
